Framed Herbarium/pressed flowers from England c.1845.

The pictures are numbered so that you can see which picture is which option.

They look great either as one, or sets of 2, 4, 6, 8 & 12.

Names of the specimens are written in ink in both English and Latin and on occasion the place picked, for example on the picture with the bow the label says “Collected from the walls of Goodrich Castle. Ja….y 13 - 1845.”
Or option 4 picture which says “Mr Hand’s Orchard, Painswick”.
Page numbers can just be seen on some in the top right corner in red ink.
From the information we have received they are possibly from the Gloucestershire/Herefordshire/ Cotswolds area.

These are a splendid example of mid-19th Century pressed botanical specimens from the height of the herbarium ( pressed flower )/science enthusiasm.

Each picture’s full size, including frame, is 30cm x 48cm.
Framed in black and gold faux bamboo frames with UltraVue UV70 anti-reflective glass.
