Vintage Tibetan Monster Movie Statue

We fell in love with this fella the moment we set eyes on him!
Found outside a cinema in Tibet where he had been standing for years, a wood, plaster and painted monster with a girl...yes that's what we were told....a "girl" over his shoulder.
Whether to promote a 1950's American monster movie, and there were it feels like millions of them in the 50's, or a locally made movie with a touch of some deity....or just the fevered imagination of a local....he's fabulous isn't he with his dangerous teeth to his quite lovely long eyelashes.
He’s one of a kind, never to be another, stands at 53cm high.
Weathering has taken some toll with a lost ear, the "girl" has lost some of her foot and hand, he has some cracks and dings we have had secured but he has stood outside for years and years so still pretty gorgeous …he must be a deity!
